Biography
Shaimaa is a current PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she also completed her MA. She is a Florida native, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with her B.A. in Editing, Writing, and Media, and her B.S. in International Affairs. Her research interests sit at the crossroads of language and gender studies, the digital landscape, and consequences in the political realm. She is currently studying narrative sensemaking and how people communicate about sexual violence.
